Why Should I Service my Car?
While servicing isn’t a legal requirement like an NCT there are many financial, economic and safety benefits to having it done. If you want to maintain your vehicles value and extend its lifespan on the road its highly recommended to service it at regular intervals. Below are some examples why.
- Lowers the chance of a breakdown
- Helps improve the cars fuel efficiency
- Regular oil and filter changes will reduce friction and wear to the engine
- Maintains the overall safety of your car
- Resale value is optimised when sold with a full service history
- Ensures the brakes and tyres are above critical safety levels
Servicing FAOs
How long does a service take?
This will depend on the manufacturer and model but a standard interim service is usually completed within an hour or less. A main service will normally take less than 2 hours to complete. Timing belts and water pump replacement will normally be longer but completed within a day depending on the make and model.
What does a car service include?
This depends on which service is required and the make and model. Typically there are three levels of service, A, B or C:
(A – Service)
This is a Basic engine oil and filter change which includes the following:
- OE Engine Oil
- OE Engine Oil filter
- Checking light levels
- Fluid level top ups
- Suspension check
- Wipers check
- Tyres check
- Brake levels
- Road test
(B – Service)
This is an Interim service including the following:
- OE Engine Oil
- OE Engine Oil filter
- OE Air filter
- Resetting of service indicator
- Checking light levels
- Fluid level top ups
- Suspension check
- Wipers check
- Tyres check
- Brake levels check
- Pre NCT Check
- Road test
- Complementary Wash
(C – Service)
This is a Full service including the following:
- OE Engine Oil
- OE Engine Oil filter
- OE Air filter
- Fuel Filter (Diesel)
- Spark Plugs (Petrol)
- Resetting of service indicator
- Checking light levels
- Fluid level top ups
- Suspension check
- Wipers check
- Tyres check
- Brake levels check
- Pre NCT Check
- Road test
- Complementary Wash
Additional works are also carried out and include, Diagnostics, Clutches & Timing Belts.

Our dealership has a relaxing area where you can sit and use our complimentary Wi-Fi.
Can I have a courtesy car while my car is being serviced?
Is there anywhere I can wait and maybe work online while my service is carried out?If a courtesy car is available then this would be offered for a small daily fee. If we don’t have a courtesy car available on the day we can also offer a lift home and collection service within a 5 mile radius.
